Red Rock Scenic Byway
The Red Rock Scenic Byway is a 17-mile loop that takes you through some of the most beautiful red rock country in Sedona. The byway offers breathtaking views of towering red rock formations, as well as access to some of the best hiking and biking trails in the area. Along the way, you can stop at scenic overlooks, picnic areas, and trailheads. The byway is free to access, some areas require a $5/day-use fee. It takes about 20 minutes to drive the route, but we suggest setting aside several hours to enjoy all of the attractions along the way. You will end up taking lots of photos.
Chapel of the Holy Cross
Located on a hilltop overlooking Sedona, the Chapel of the Holy Cross is a modern, Catholic chapel that was built into the red rock cliffs. Designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, the chapel has a unique, modernist design that blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings. The chapel offers panoramic views of the red rock landscape, as well as a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere.
Cathedral Rock
Cathedral Rock is one of the most iconic and photographed red rock formations in Sedona. Located just south of town, Cathedral Rock is a popular spot for hikers and photographers. There are several trails that lead to the top of the rock, ranging from easy to strenuous. From the top, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Cathedral Rock is predominantly an Upflow Vortex (especially the 1st half of the trail). Great for soaring and feeling inspired for greater oneness and serenity.
