Verde River Greenway is a 471 acre park with a six mile long area containing on of the Arizona desert’s last free flowing rivers. View thriving wildlife and huge stands of native Cottonwoods secured along the Verde river. Bird watcher will love the blue herons, black hawks that are easily viewed along the river. Don’t miss the beavers.

Lost Dutchman’s State Park
Did you find it? The Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine is a part of Phoenix historical lore. Trails lead into the rugged Superstition Mountains. This is an awesome urban hike, just 40 miles from downtown Phoenix. Come prepared to stretch your muscles. Bring plenty of water in the warmer months. Take some time and learn about the Dutchman before you come. Maybe you will be the one to find the mine.
McFarland State Historic Park
Florence was once the center of activity and the dominant structure was the old courthouse. Enjoy the many exhibits which depict this old structure and its many changes over the years.
Catalina State Park
This park is at the base of Mt. Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Mountains. This park is popular for all interests including: camping and hiking.
Picacho Peak Sate Park
The most significant Civil War battle in Arizona was held here. The 1,500 peak defines the skyline that overlooks the sea of wildflowers in this area.
Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park
This is the courthouse that tamed the West. You can learn the real story behind the shootout at the OK Corral and see a tax license for operating a brothel and invitations to a hanging.
Tubac Presidio State Historic Park
This is Arizona’s very first state park. Walk through the ruins of a Spanish Colonial fort.
Patagonia Lake Sate Park
The blue waters of this 2.5 mile long lake is a favorite of Arizona boaters. Fish away, blue gill, bass, crappie and catfish are all part of the take. This is a multi use lake. You can also enjoy water skiing on this great lake.
