Verde River Greenway

Verde River Greenway is a 471 acre park with a six mile long area containing on of the Arizona desert’s last free flowing rivers. View thriving wildlife and huge stands of native Cottonwoods secured along the Verde river. Bird watcher will love the blue herons, black hawks that are easily viewed along the river. Don’t miss the beavers.

Fort Verde State Historic Part

The Arizona territory headquarters of General Cook’s army scouts. Look back to the original buildings and lifestyle of early 19th century settlers.

Jerome State Historic Park

This once booming mining town was home to the Douglas Mansion. This 1916 mansion had most of the innovative home conveniences of the 1900’s. Enjoy fantastic views as you visit this historic home.

Red Rock State Park

Walk through this 5 mile network of trails and learn about Sedona’s red rocks, the lush riparian habitat and the many forms of wildlife in the area.

Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area

Lyman Lake State Park

In the high plains, this park is home to great fishing. If fishing isn’t your passion, you can tour the many ruins that were once Pueblo and Mogollon Indian cultures.

Homolovi Ruins State Park

Tour these Pueblo Indian ruins and enjoy great camping in Arizona’s great northern landscape.

Tonto Natural Bridge State Park

The world’s largest travertine bridge is located here. You can picnic above the bridge in a lush grassy meadow among the pines. Take some time and hike one of the many trails.

Riordan mansion State Historic Park

This pristine historical site is filled with original furnishings. Built in 1904 this mansion is a reminder of the upscale living in a small logging town of the early 1900’s. Please make a reservation to enjoy this mansion.

Lost Dutchman’s State Park

Did you find it? The Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine is a part of Phoenix historical lore. Trails lead into the rugged Superstition Mountains. This is an awesome urban hike, just 40 miles from downtown Phoenix. Come prepared to stretch your muscles. Bring plenty of water in the warmer months. Take some time and learn about the Dutchman before you come. Maybe you will be the one to find the mine.

McFarland State Historic Park

Florence was once the center of activity and the dominant structure was the old courthouse. Enjoy the many exhibits which depict this old structure and its many changes over the years.

Catalina State Park

This park is at the base of Mt. Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Mountains. This park is popular for all interests including: camping and hiking.

Picacho Peak Sate Park

The most significant Civil War battle in Arizona was held here. The 1,500 peak defines the skyline that overlooks the sea of wildflowers in this area.

Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park

This is the courthouse that tamed the West. You can learn the real story behind the shootout at the OK Corral and see a tax license for operating a brothel and invitations to a hanging.

Tubac Presidio State Historic Park

This is Arizona’s very first state park. Walk through the ruins of a Spanish Colonial fort.

Patagonia Lake Sate Park

The blue waters of this 2.5 mile long lake is a favorite of Arizona boaters. Fish away, blue gill, bass, crappie and catfish are all part of the take. This is a multi use lake. You can also enjoy water skiing on this great lake.

Roper Lake State Park

Take a dip in the rock lined natural hot spring.

Kartchner Caverns State Park

One of the largest caverns in the world, Kartchner Caverns is a must-see. The world class exhibits include video, displays and exhibits as well as a gift shop and picnic area. Enjoy the five miles of hiking trails around the Caverns.

Buckskin Mountain State Park and River Island Unit

Fire up the jet ski and get ready for fishing and boating at this popular Arizona waterway. You can also camp, hike and swim. This is a great family area.

Alamo State Park

This is one of the very best fishing lakes in Arizona. Enjoy hiking in this Sonoran desert area. The campgrounds afford you a great view of the lake and the native Arizona wildlife.

Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic park

Walk into a strap iron cell and imagine what it was like for turn of the century prisoners in the Yuma Territorial Prison. The museum has early photographs of the area and portrays the hardships that these prisoners had to endure.

Yuma Crossing State Historical Park

This is a salute to five centuries of transportation across the Colorado River. The Yuma Crossing has long been recognized as one of the most integral crossing points along the Colorado during our early Western history.

Cattail Cove State Park

Along the shores of Lake Havasu, this park affords you the opportunity to sail on quiet waters or to go all out on your jet ski on the open lake.

Lake Havasu State Park

Beautiful beaches and great campsites are the lure of this state park. Stay on the water in many of the convenient camp sites.
