The Arizona Science Center is a four-story combination of playground and classroom for kids, though it's also open for a monthly adults-only "night out" by popular demand.
The center features more than 300 hands-on exhibits in themed galleries that explore such subjects as human life, technology, gravity, magnetism, geology, solar energy, and thunderstorms. Visitors can experience a free fall, lie on a bed of 1,000 nails, and experience a mini-lava eruption.
The center also offers a variety of live demonstrations, which change daily, and has a planetarium and IMAX theater. It is located in downtown Phoenix .
